Day 8 : Move up the West Coast to Noelani Resort

Today was moving day. Driving north from Kihea to Lahaina. We pulled off the road at a overlook thinking there might be something to see. Way in the distance we could see water spouts. And right there in front of us a whale blow a water spout, rolled down and up came the fluke.
Whale fluke.

Park were we stopped for lunch.

Got some coffee at the Bad Ass Coffee shop across the street.

There were at least two reefs off the beach which made a shallow pool just right for little kids.

Just sitting at the beach without a camera and B-R-E-E-C-H, a whale right in front of us.  That's the second one without a camera. Dang it.

It's not a mango tree but we are sitting under it anyway.

Look close at the Hawaiian cardinal.
We arrived at our new place, Noelani Condominium Resort. While the prior condo was across the street from a park beach, the new place is looking out directly on the ocean.

Lanai

Living room, dining room and kitchen.

Bedroom.

Bob decided to try a trick Kristen used once. Taking a picture through one side of binoculars. Not the biggest waves but still fun to watch the surfers and paddle boarders.

You'll just have to believe us. The little darker area is a sea turtle. There were two perhaps three turtles right below our "yard" off the lanai.

Hawaiian sunset. Much better from my perspective than a sunrise.

  1. More amazing photos. The first one looks like the Lock Ness monster. I like that tree.
